Sun gazing

Have you ever heard about suntarians? Probably not because I think I just invented the term :D

Well, I am using it to refer to people whose only source of energy is the sun's and that's it. Yeah, there are individuals who not only do not eat meat but actually do not eat anything at all!

The most popular guy, and main promoter of this practice, is called Hira Ratan Manek. HRM states that he has been living only on sunlight and water since 1995 and he seems to be healthier than most people his age (he is almost 73 yo).

He says that for beginners the best, and lest harmful way of starting this practice is to watch the sun either one hour after the sunrise or one hour before the sunset. He also says that the periods for sun gazing should not be longer than 10 seconds at the beginning and advises to increase the amount of time you watch the sun periodically.

I am not recommending anyone to quit eating and live only from sun and water but I must say that since I started doing it I feel calmer and my awareness has increased. Well, lately there hasn't been much sun here in Prague but whenever I get the chance of looking at the sun I do it :)

If you want to take a look at HRM's detailed protocol take a look at this page.

Before I leave you for today allow me to share with you a breakfast recipe provided by my dear friend Katrine:

3 fruits and nuts

chop
  • a banana
  • peach
  • strawberries
  • some grapes
then chop some
  • almond
  • hazel
  • walnuts

Put chopped fruit in a bowl and sprinkle with nuts.
